Movin' On Up and Being a Boy!

Yesterday evening, Gabe pulled himself up to stand for maybe 30 seconds while playing in the living room. I couldn't get to my camera fast enough, however, so I missed this momentous occasion by about 5 seconds.

This morning, he was nice enough to do it again, only this time while playing in the crib. I had my cell phone handy, so here's the snapshot.

By the way, he really is sticking his tongue out at me. This was something he learned to do maybe two days ago.

I promise I didn't show him how to do it!

The practice of displaying one's tongue during photo-taking is, apparently, something boys (and men) do almost instinctively. DH does this just about any time a camera is pointing in his direction, and I've just decided it's got to be genetic. There is a cute coffee mug on one of our shelves showing a picture of him and Zeke (age 1) sticking their tongues out at the camera. The caption under the picture reads, "Like father, like son..."

Well, I thought it was highly appropriate.

And now, the newest male family member is quickly catching on in this unspoken rite of passage. All I can do is cringe a little and pretend I didn't see.
